MFI and Parenteral Formulations

New customers and applications for MFI technology in the Pharmaceutical industry

October 2006, Ottawa, Canada   Brightwell Technologies announced today that it has several new clients in the pharmaceutical industry. The customers develop bio-pharmaceutical drugs and are using Brightwell's Micro-Flow Imaging (MFI™) instruments to measure and analyze particles in these formulations.

Dramatically Improved Detection of Highly Transparent Particles

Peter Moore, President of Brightwell comments “Our customers are reporting that a flow microscopy technique like MFI provides interesting and useful results which complement existing methods for particle characterization. Specifically, it has been consistently demonstrated that MFI dramatically improves the detection and sizing of highly transparent particles typical of protein-based drug formulations.”

Brightwell has developed several innovative features and modifications for its MFI instruments to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. MFI is equally effective for subvisible and visible particles. The company has published a Qualification Study for MFI and Parenteral Formulations
